Farabi is Flora's best friend. They live in the same area. Also they are both in class 7. But they go to different schools.

It is a school holiday. Flora has come to visit Farabi. They are talking. Flora wants to know about the prize-giving ceremony of Farabi's school.

"Yesterday was our school prize-giving day," Farabi says. "On this occasion our school auditorium and its dais were brightly decorated. Prizes were also neatly displayed on a separate table on the dais. All the students were present at the function. Among others, the guardians and some eminent persons of the locality attended the function," Farabi continues. "The Principal of PN College was the chief guest."

"When did the function start?" Flora asked.

Oh, it started on time ____ just at 4 pm," Farabi says. "Our Head Teacher first read out the annual report. Then the Chief Guest gave a short speech. He highly praised the overall performance of the school and its excellent JSC and SSC Exam results. Then he gave away the prizes among the students for their outstanding activities."

"Did you get any prize, Farabi?" Flora enquires.

"Yes, I did," Farabi replies. "I've got two prizes - one for regular attendance and the other for good results in the last annual exams."

Next week Farabi comes to visit Flora in her house. They are having a chat. "Can you remember your first day at school, Flora?" Farabi asks.

"Oh, yes, I can," Flora says. "I can recall exactly what happened. Would you like to hear it?"

"I'd love to," says Farabi. "Please tell me."

"Okay," says Flora. "It was 2006. I was then 6 years old." One day my mother said, "Flora, you're going to start your school tomorrow."

I was very excited. I couldn't think of anything else. I was always thinking about the school, the teachers and the students of our school. I couldn't even sleep well that night.
The next morning my mother woke me up early in the morning. I had a bath and put on my best clothes. Then I had breakfast and started for the school with my mother.

The school was not very far from our home. So we walked all the way.

Alexander Fleming was born in Ayrshire, Scotland on August 6, 1881. He was the third of the four children. He attended a medical school in London and graduated in medicine in 1906. Fleming assisted in battlefield hospitals during the World War I from 1911 to 1918. There he observed many people dying of infection. Once the war was over, Fleming looked for medicine that would heal infection. Then he came back to the laboratory and carried out a lot of experiments to get cure from infections. At last, he was successful in his mission. In 1928, he discovered penicillin, a drug that he used to kill bacteria. Alexander Fleming died of heart failure in London in 1955.

William Blake, a poet and artist, was born in London in 1757. During his early years, he showed himself as a dreamer and visionary. Beyond learning to read and write, he received no education, but began to copy prints and write verses at the age of ten. At the age of fourteen, he was apprenticed to an engraver. He married Catherine Boucher at the age of twenty five, and shortly afterwards, set up a print shop. A patron of him provided him with a cottage on the Sussex Coast. He spent all his life in London. "The Poet Sketches", a collection of his early poems, was published in 1783. With the help of his wife, he published "Songs of Innocence" in 1789. "Songs of Experience" was published five years later. His only book in prose named "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" was published in 1790. His other book 'Milton' was written in 1804. He died at his sixty-ninth year.

Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. He was an American astronaut. He was also an aerospace engineer. Armstrong was born on 05 August, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the USA. He experienced his first flight in Warren, Ohio, on July 20, 1936. He earned his flight certificate in 1945 at the age of only 15. In 1947, at the age of 17, he began to study aeronautical engineering in Purdue University, the USA. He received B.Sc. degree in aeronautical engineering in 1955 and he did M.Sc. in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California in 1970. In 1958, he was selected for the US Air Force's 'Man in Space Soonest' programme. Neil Armstrong, along with his group, launched the mission to the moon with Apollo 11 in July, 1969. He was the commander of the voyage, Apollo 11 and landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong walked first on the surface of the moon. He died on August 25, 2012.
